DISSZ [something that helps realise a desire].

In this project, Anna Fabricius gives a fresh presentation of early phase of parent-son communication. Combining verbal and visual expressions, relations and gestures, meaning and understanding she explores this definitive but hard-to-depict connection.

7 Things displays staged situations with young boys, inspired by seven meaningful but non-existent word-like expressions that Fabricius's son consequently used at the beginning of their communication.

For the mid-format photos, Fabricius uses enlarged polystyrene cutouts copied from her son's scribbles, with which he highlighted or erased the most important areas on her other photos. She combines the visual, verbal and bodily expressions to create a new synthesis.
