Today, most of us live in urban environments and we experience the landscape from a distance; mediated by television and technology, it remains out of reach.

In Stillness, Davies draws this distance closer by bringing the viewer directly into the heart of a rich and textured forest which offers both mystery and the potential for exploration.
Each image created links the forest landscape with the greatest unknown of all, the universe.

Through this, Davies brings to light a profound and electrifying contrast between the luscious physicality of the forest and its inherent otherness.
